Waterfalls & Rivers

I am always a fan of waterfalls and seek them out when exploring a new area. The contrast between moving water and the stillness of a surrounding forest or rock formation enhances the composition. Often the surroundings frame the moving water in a way that provides focus to the waterfall. I experiment with different shutter speeds to smooth the flow, but sometimes a very fast shutter speed brings out the power of an intense cascade or waterfall. You’ll see examples of both in this gallery
