Many Americans equate travel abroad with travel to Europe. It appeals because it is different, but usually not so different that the differences become a barrier. For the vast number of Americans living in the Eastern US, it is also the closest set of foreign destinations. For me, it is the huge diversity and distinct differences from my own life that attract: history, culture, climate, urban enviroments, and of course landscape. Something for every ‘theme’ gallery in this website.
